The second round of the Monster Energy National MX Series
took place in the beautiful city of Cape Town. The massive
jumps and picturesque backgrounds of Table Mountain made
this event a big favourite amongst competitors and spectators.
d-force Race Team made a big effort for this event and
all three Ladies class riders were looking forward to a
good day. The team had an up and down day with some wins
and crashes throughout the day, in the extremely hot weather
At only her 3rd national ever, Tiegan Reed had an average
day after sustaining injuries the day before the event.
With her hard work and confidence smashed she was still
in high spirits and pushed herself to take a solid eight
place in the first heat. Heat two saw Reed colliding with
another rider while trying to make the pass, but unfortunately
dislocated her shoulder and damaged her radiator which left
her with a DNF, giving her thirteenth overall.

Red plate holder, Kayla Raaff had the fastest lap in practice.
First heat was a battle with second place rider Leah Heygate,
and making the pass proved difficult after hurting her wrist.
Raaff settled for third place. Her 2nd heat saw the youngster
push very hard and had another battle with 2nd place. She
managed to push for the pass and made it stick, which gave
her a solid second overall for the day.

Nanda Clowes came into this weekend with yet another knee
injury sustained in the Pre-national the weekend before.
Clowes had a super day regardless, taking both holeshots
and both wins in the Ladies class. Top spot on the podium
earned her the lead in the championship points and the current
red plate holder.
